Consultant – Facilitator for USAID DRC All Staff Retreat – DRC
Overview:
USAID/DRC’s Mission Strategic Support Program (MSSP) is seeking dynamic and experienced facilitators to support in the organization and facilitation of the USAID/DRC All-Staff Retreat. The retreat will focus on team building, morale, welfare, and change management.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Mission Retreat Planning Committee to develop the retreat agenda and facilitation plan.
- Facilitate retreat sessions in Kinshasa, managing discussions, and guiding team-building exercises in alignment with the developed agenda.
- Prepare detailed meeting summaries, reports, and recommendations for submission after the event.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilitating large-scale events or retreats with government, international organizations, or companies.
- Expertise in team-building exercises and change management facilitation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse teams.
- Experience designing and facilitating retreats for USAID or USAID-funded implementing partners (IPs) is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of USAID operations is an advantage.
- Native or fluent in English required. Fluency in French desirable.
Deliverables:
- Provide meeting facilitation and agenda development support.
- Report of retreat key takeaways and action plan.
Anticipated Level of effort and duration:
- Pre-Retreat Preparation: 15 Days
- 10 days: Collaborating with the Retreat Planning Committee to design the retreat’s agenda. This includes:
- Support the definition of retreat goals, session objectives, and themes.
- Developing interactive activities and team-building exercises tailored to the retreat’s objectives.
- Structuring the flow of the two-day retreat, ensuring effective time management for each session.
- 3 days: Reviewing, revising, and finalizing the agenda with input from Mission.
- 2 days: Preparing facilitation tools, materials, and facilitation plan including techniques for engaging participants and managing discussions.
- On-site Facilitation: 2 Days
- 2 days: Leading retreat sessions, managing discussions, and guiding team-building exercises in alignment with the agenda.
- Post-Retreat Reporting: 4 Days
- 2 days: Summarizing key outcomes and insights from the facilitated sessions.
- 2 days: Preparing report with recommendations and a debrief for future planning.
